Emma Barnes Takes on the Marsden March

On Sunday 11th May, our very own Emma Barnes will be taking part in the Marsden March - a 15-mile walk in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. It’s an inspiring commitment, and one that carries deep personal meaning.

This year marks 10 years since Emma lost her father to leukaemia. As she shared with us, the 10th of May would also have been his 78th birthday. Although her father wasn’t treated at The Royal Marsden, Emma has chosen to support their world-leading research and patient care because of the profound difference it makes to so many families facing cancer.

Why the Royal Marsden?

The Royal Marsden is one of the world’s leading cancer centres, conducting cutting-edge research and delivering outstanding care to patients. Their work paves the way for earlier diagnoses, more personalised treatments, and improved survival rates.

By taking part in the Marsden March, Emma is helping fund that vital work and helping to ensure that future families have access to better outcomes and more hope.

“The Royal Marsden may not have treated my Dad, but the research they’re doing could help someone else’s Dad in the future. That’s why I’m doing this.”

Support Emma’s Efforts

Emma’s commitment to the challenge is a brilliant example of determination and heart. At David Howard, we’re incredibly proud of her efforts — and we’re encouraging anyone who can to show their support, whether by cheering her on or donating to the cause.

You can support Emma and contribute to her fundraising efforts for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity by visiting her donation page here:
